Community Nutrition Snapshot Session Application for Presenters

When: Friday, April 30, 2010 ; 3:30-4:45 pm
Where: BP Energy Center -- Anchorage, Alaska
Overview: General audience will form small groups and rotate between multiple Presenters during the 1.5 hour session. Presenter will have opportunity to provide 3-4 mini-sessions, each lasting approximately 20 minutes, with 3 minute passing periods. This format allows participants to learn about Community Nutrition programs around the state, share innovative best practices from their community, and/or participate in State-wide nutrition workgroup opportunities. Presenters have opportunity to provide small-group interaction and receive feedback from individual participants.

Who should apply: AKDA Members, RDs and other health-related Professionals involved in nutrition-related programs; nutrition education for special populations (ie; seniors, children, school-based, Native-Alaskans, etc) and/or Community Nutrition and/or Nutrition Profession advocacy workgroups.

Lodging & Accommodations
AKDA has 10 rooms reserved at Residence Inn at 1025 35th Avenue in Anchorage for the nights of April 28th and 29 @ a rate of $99.00/night. To make reservations, please call 1-800-314-0781 and mention the Alaska Dietetic Association when making the reservation.

Continuing Education
For exhibits, posters, case presentations, lectures or seminars, 60 minutes = 1 CPE hour. If the total number of allowable hours includes a fraction of an hour, round to the nearest whole hour (e.g. 5 ¼ hours = 5 CPE hours; 5 ½ hours = 6 CPE hours). Do not round up or down for each individual session, but only after adding the total number for the entire program. Full conference = 12 CPE hours + 1 CPE for Evening Social for RD's, DTR's and CDM's.

Fee Registration & Cancellations:
Refer to the registration form for the fee schedule. If you plan to register on site, contact Leslie Shalcross at least 24 hours prior to the conference to confirm space availability. Payment must be made to the Alaska Dietetic Association. A late fee of $10 will be charged to all conference attendees registering at the door. The Alaska Dietetic Association must receive written notification of a cancellation/refund request postmarked no later than 10 business days prior to the program date. A $15 fee will be deducted from the registration fee paid to cover processing charges.
