Now Hiring: Diabetes Specialist
  • Salary Range is $28.15 to $42.23/hr.
  • Full-Time, Exempt

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Health related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in the health care field and/or education experience with groups and individuals. Experience in the collection, analysis and reporting of data and outcomes preferred.
  • Licensed healthcare professions, such as RN, must have current State of Alaska licensure. Certification as a Diabetes Educator through the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators is required and must be obtained within one (1) year of hire if not certified upon employment.
  • Must have knowledge of general theories and practices of adult education. Must be creative, flexible and able to apply concepts of adult and youth education.
  • Requires the practice of assessment, decision-making, planning, implementing and evaluating.
  • Must have knowledge of complex disease processes, clinical standards and outcomes.

    Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition or related field.
  • Completion of a dietetic internship program. Continuing education in accordance with policies determined by the American Dietetic Association for maintenance of registered status.
  • One year clinical experience.
  • Current registration as a Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
  • Licensure in accordance with the laws of the State of Alaska.
