Registered Dietitian Fresenius Medical Care Anchorage/Wasilla posted 03/05/2010 Summary Fresenius Medical Care provides dialysis to patients throughout Alaska. The dietician provides an integral part of the dialysis patient's care. This position is divided between the dialysis clinics in Wasilla and Anchorage. It is a qualified part time position, 30 hours per week and the candidate is eligible for medical, dental, vision, life and 401(k). Principal Responsibilities and Duties The Renal Dietitian is responsible for providing ongoing care for all nutrition aspects of ESRD patients. Responsible for comprehensive nutrition assessment including short term care plan and long-term program within one month of admission. Recommend appropriate feeding methods/formula or meal patterns. (i.e. IDPN, supplements). Responsible for developing or obtaining patient nutrition educations materials. Counsel patient, family, significant other or caregiver on prescribed diet and monitor adherence and response to therapy. Review monthly lab work on an individual basis and intervene as appropriate in collaboration with patient's physician. Education Registered Dietitian Current state licensure Prefer membership to the American Dietetic Association and/or professional membership to a renal association i.e. CRN Experience and Required Skills Minimum 1 year clinical dietetic experience.
