Welcome to the Alaska Dietetic Association's (AKDA) website, your link to the latest nutrition news in Alaska. The AKDA is the largest association of nutrition professionals in Alaska and is composed of 129 members representing urban and rural parts of Alaska including all aspects of nutrition services. Dietitians across Alaska are dedicated to improving the health of the citizens of Alaska and are doing so in various settings including, hospitals, outpatient clinics, research, education, private practice, public health, long-term care facilities, wellness programs, school food service, business industry, etc.

AKDA continues to honor its mission to lead the future of dietetics in Alaska. Our strategic plan includes increasing the use of technology to help connect members of this vast land of Alaska. We are committed to recruiting AKDA members and the promotion of our profession through increasing media coverage. AKDA hosts an annual Spring Conference to unite members and non-members and feature nationally known speakers for continuing education opportunities.

In order to become a member of the Alaska Dietetic Association (AKDA), you must first join the American Dietetic Association (ADA). You are then a member of your state association, with no additional fees in Alaska. ADA will send you confirmation of your membership.

Your involvement in AKDA is an important step in staying connected with the other dietitians of this amazing state.
